On a National Health System Scorecard, Georgia has Improved from 46th to 41st

3/29/2017

Recently, the Commonwealth Fund's 2017 scorecard was released.  It ranks all 50 states and the District of Columbia on a multitude of areas, including:  health outcomes, quality, avoidable hospital use and costs, healthcare equity and  health care access.  In a three way tie, Georgia, South Carolina and Texas all scored a 41.  Vermont was the top-ranked state overall in this year's overall report, followed by Minnesota, Hawaii, Rhode Island and Massachusetts.  While this five spot improvement is encouraging, Georgia still has far to go as it still ranks at the bottom of the list with most of the other Southern states.
